About Susan

Susan Polk Van Dusen, children's author

As a child, Susan Polk Van Dusen visited the library every week with her parents and brought home stacks of books to enjoy. After having kids of her own, Susan continued the tradition with weekly trips to storytime and nightly bedtime stories. Now the owner of Van Dusen Books, she hopes her picture books will bring joy to children and the grownups who love them.

Susan has enjoyed a long career as an award-winning writer and editor and has been recognized by the Parenting Media Association, the International Association of Business Communicators, the Public Relations Society of America, and others.

She has two grown daughters and lives in Arkansas with her husband and dachshund. When Susan isn’t working on children’s books, she enjoys yoga, gardening, and travel.
